Canturk was born in Karsiyaka, Izmir, Turkey, on June 21, 1978. He Lived in Karsiyaka up to age 5, then his family moved to Bornova. He had an enjoyable life until the age of 7, then he started school! He went to Kars Ilkokulu, Bornova Anadolu Lisesi, Izmir Fen Lisesi, Bilkent University, University of Westminster, Princeton University... He moved back to Karsiyaka at the age of 18 with his family in the summer prior to his attendance to University. During his undergrad life, he lived in Ankara, in Bilkent. For his Masters, he lived in central London for a year, around Old Street Station. Presently, he is living in Princeton, NJ, US, for 1.5 years now.
